Why 'Conscious' Communications?

Over the history of the industry, marketing and advertising have increasingly been seen by a large portion of the world as a negative contributor. From Doctors smoking cigarettes to promoting the overconsumption of just about everything, you can be forgiven for thinking that marketing agencies are focused solely on profit and not people.
It is common knowledge now that this consumer greed and the promotion of it has contributed to a large number of the issues that the world is currently having to deal with. From fast-fashion to deforestation, the way that businesses impact consumer behavior has to change, and we believe that it is starting to.
Each year, more and more social enterprises, non-profits and sustainable-focused small businesses open their doors and the consumer’s perception of
how their hard-earned dollars should be spent.
So why 'Conscious'?
When we talk about ‘conscious’ communications, we are referring to the act of putting a message out into the world with positive purpose and intent. Since the rise of modern-day communications through blogs, instant messaging, posts, and the like there has been a constant stream of information going out into the world. From ‘you are beautiful’ all the way to ‘you need this to be beautiful’.
All of the messages that we are responsible for we put out there with the intention that they will make a positive contribution, and will help to further our global environmental and social progress. By doing so we want to encourage consumers to make positive choices, deciding how they want the world to be by voting with their dollars and their time.

Before we had begun to set up the business we knew that our branding had to reflect our purpose, that's why you see plenty of green on our site with the circles on the logo reflecting our commitment to communicating to the globe as a whole.
As the founder, I have built CC to be a platform for those already making those contributions, so that we can help them reach the customers and businesses that will benefit most from their products and services. To give some examples we are currently working with the non-profit End Brain Cancer Initiative (@endbraincancer) on expanding their social media reach and engagement, whilst also utilizing new technology for harnessing donations and donor demographic information. For one of our small-business clients, we have performed a brand review for Bear Design Leather (@bear.northwest) and have engaged their customer base using a podcast and social media promotion to discuss their role in the minimalism movement and quelling common misconceptions about the leather industry.
As well as providing intentional digital marketing services, we are making a commitment to build a ‘Conscious Community’, one that shares ideas and collaborates on initiatives between businesses and individuals. At the end of our first year in business (February 2021) we hope to bring together our community in the very first ‘Conscious Conference’
